Is there anybody who makes blanking plugs. I would make them myself but my dad has taken my workbench down so that he can put his windsurfing trailer in the garage Cheers tb

Have a look in the latest catalogue from Blackgates Engineering,as they sell a range of blanking plugs from 1/4" x 40 TPI up to 5/8" x 26 TPI. Hope this is of help.

I think Stuarts use the 1/4 x 32 thread. Maybe they do something. Also try Reeves. Chris.

You could try GLR's they used to be in Hoddesdon Herts but now they have moved to Coventry. Try their web site

Hi tb How many do you need?
I need to make myself some so I may be able to make a few extras.
I'm all in favour of encouraging the young, I was interested when I was a teenager, but a combination of not much encouragement and no money, as well as other things such as girls, cars etc mean I lost interest in model engineering for about twenty years.
Keep up the enthusiasm tb.
Let me know what you need.
Regards Trevor

Hi Tom
Since my last post I tried to change my email address and unhide it so that I could get you to send me a personnal email about the blanking plugs.
I've just looked in the workshop and I don't have all the plugs you need, I'm happy to make them for you as i need to make some anyway, but you may have to wait a few days as I have something set up in the lathe at the moment that I need to finish first.
Send me an email if you are still interested and I'll try and sort it out as soon as I can
Trevor

Hi Tom, Unfortunately I posted this in the wrong topic so you might not have seen it. I also need some blanking plugs size 3/16" x 40 and spoke to Steam Fittings 01341-280637 www.steamfittings.co.uk/asp/index.asp Although they do not list them as stock he offered to make some for me and thought that they could be included in the range of fittings. Hope this helps, John
