Hi- I haven't done much with steam lately, but I am now about to continue my quest to create a steam powered cellphone charger. I've got a Stuart 10H hooked up to a dynamo that puts out 15 volts with 2.3 amps at 5300 rpm. It all fits in a cigar box. I picked up a seldom used Stuart 504 boiler at a very low price because it looks like somebody shut it down with the steam outlet valve closed. As a result, the boiler imploded slightly around the safety valve. I had been considering how I could best get the dent out. Last night, while watching Repair Shop, it occurred to me that I could simply solder a cosmetic patch over the dent if I could procure the right size pipe nipple and coupling nut so the safety valve is the proper height.
I also need to figure out how to clean up the current output so a cellphone will accept it.

Steam-powered cell phone charger - very much in the spirit of this forum!
Easiest way to get suitable supply for a charger might be to adapt a car cigarette lighter adaptor/USB type device. In a car, these should be rated to at least 14-15V as a car battery on charge can reach that so it might be ideal for your setup.

Identical situation. Removed SV, screwed in bolt with a metal plate under head. . Annealed boiler and with boiler in a purpose made cradle gently jacked the plate upwards to pull out dent. Overdoing or going too heavy will stretch the copper.
