Just joined. not been metalworking for long I have come from a woodworking hobby which I still do, mainly woodturning. I have just treated myself to an Warco 280 lathe and a WM18 mill.
Whether foolish or not I have taken on a Rob Roy as my first project and have got the main frames all drilled and cut out. the main horns are riveted in and the weighshaft bushes turned and fitted. Along with that I have made the buffer beams including riveting the angle plates on as well as turning the buffers and stocks. I also have the two plates so am not too far away from starting to assemble the chassis The last couple of days I have been working on the axle boxes the slots are milled and cut to rough size ready to bring to the correct length.
Not sure about posting pictures as I do not use photo hosting sites after what happened with Photobucket a while ago so now avoid using any of them

Hi and welcome. We have 2 part built Rob Roys which are to get slightly bigger Gemma Boilers as I have the flanging plates.
I have had lots of problems with our older WM18 mostly with the motor overheating and needing bigger holes in the motor base. The plastic cover removing, and an extracting kitchen fan being lodged on the top. I take it you have the new Belt drive version. I am going to do a conversion when it may one day get a rest. Everything else is just superb about it. Just got it a second Abwood 6 inch vice just so much space on the table.
Photos are easy on Facebook Model Engineering section.
