I am looking for recommendation for a insert threading tool that can hold both imperial and metric inserts, not expensive but at the same time not cheap and cheerful somewhere in the middle ground on price.
These will possibly get very little use. I do have some projects coming up that will need them. For smaller sized threads I do have plenty of taps and dies.
Thank you guys I did a search for JB Cutting tools and all I found was a company that ceased to trade unless it is a different one has anyone got an web site link for them, I also tried looking on E Bay in case they traded on there with no joy
Reading a thread on another forum, the JB tools website is currently defunct, but this is their ebay account. Link to ebay Also on the same thread, there was a suggestion they would be at the midlands exhibition.
JB seem to go to shows and trade on eBay but have stopped the online shop, I have just seen the midlands show guide in the latest EIM magazine and they have a stand booked there if you want to see before you buy.
Insert tools are also available from APT tooling, with a good range of inserts. However, one point to watch is the minimum bore that a tool can enter for cutting internal threads, you might find that this is much larger than you might require, especially with finer pitches.
