I am looking for recommendation for a insert threading tool that can hold both imperial and metric inserts, not expensive but at the same time not cheap and cheerful somewhere in the middle ground on price.
These will possibly get very little use. I do have some projects coming up that will need them. For smaller sized threads I do have plenty of taps and dies.

I'm pretty sure mine came from JB Cutting Tools at an exhibition and I use the same holder for 55 and 60 deg inserts.

Think I got mine from JB Tools at a show, if I remember correctly it was about thirty quid.

Twenty-odd quid from RGD tools. I don't know why they specify 55 degree and 60 degree separately, both inserts use the same outer profile.
Regards, Steve

Reading a thread on another forum, the JB tools website is currently defunct, but this is their ebay account. Link to ebay Also on the same thread, there was a suggestion they would be at the midlands exhibition. Wilf

JB seem to go to shows and trade on eBay but have stopped the online shop, I have just seen the midlands show guide in the latest EIM magazine and they have a stand booked there if you want to see before you buy.

Insert tools are also available from APT tooling, with a good range of inserts. However, one point to watch is the minimum bore that a tool can enter for cutting internal threads, you might find that this is much larger than you might require, especially with finer pitches.
