Yes, absolutely everything has gone up, about 50 % in the last 6 months it seems to me when I'm sent to the supermarket.
As a matter of interest, how much was the rotary table when you bought it, in undropped condition?

Personally, I think a lot of it is to do with suppliers and retailers etc. jumping on the Covid/Ukraine bandwagon and using it as an excuse to hike up prices! Just my opinion of course

Not forgetting the pound has been in the toilet for ages. Another interesting one is the cost of shipping and containers has rocketed making anything from the far side of the Suez Canal eye wateringly expensive. Does anyone still remember when this stuff was made here and was affordable? Me neither.

I dreamt of owning a lathe etc when I was young and it was completely unaffordable, not so now with Taiwanese, Korean, Chinese and Indian made stuff. The quality is sometimes questionable but things are usually useable with a bit of fettling , minor modification or adaption.

I'm reminded when I was into cameras many, many years ago, an Olympus camera that retailed at £100 was £20 at the UK docks. So 80% of the price was handling, markup and tax within the UK.

Wilf Wilf, maybe it was an OM10? A big leap for me in bringing a good auto SLR within my grasp at a price I could afford. Not a Leica but good enough for me.

I had an OM-1, then an OM-2. Then my wife was a Canon user (until she got really serious). I never got into rangefinder cameras - although I bought a Reid (Leica copy), which I should have kept as they're now worth a fortune.

Wilf I had an OM-10 in 1981, which froze up on me when in Leningrad on holiday - it was darkest February!- so I bought an OM-2 with a five FPS motor drive and I never looked back. I sold it to a camera dealer for good money, just before the advent of cheap digital cameras...
