I posted this elsewhere which on reflection would have been better placed here. Has anyone made or designed 3D printed loco buffers that would be willing to supply 4. All cost will gladly be covered. Failing that, does anyone know of a source of where I can get them. TIA

Hi Les, what type of loco buffers are you after?
I'm down under so it might not be cost-effective for me to produce them and send them to you.

Do you mean this type? I have done them for my BR Std Class 3 Tank project. They're lost wax cast from printed waxes but I'm looking at making a mould for the waxes soon. Are you wanting the casting only? I have drawings for the whole self-contained assembly. Cheers, Mike

Those are the ones and beautiful works of art they are too... Absolutely stunning. As my buffers will not be taking any loads, I was thinking of embracing new technology and use 3d printing. I think I may start saving for my own printer, I'll probably have to upgrade my laptop too. That's running XP with 700mhz and 192 ram. Don't laugh, it does what's needed and was happily running on 64mb ram til last week when I got PC100 128mb stick. Jeez, it's fast now.

It’s great that you want to get a printer of your own! You won’t regret it. A word of warning though, CAD requires good computing power. I use a computer that I originally built for video games. 32GB of ram and a very powerful CPU. You can go with a lot less of course. But I already had it there so it makes designing very quick and easy.
I can make up the buffers in cad if I have some sort of drawing. But I don’t have any PETG filament on hand at the moment.
