This thread is for build logs of wagons as I plan to make a few. First off, a friend of mine who we will call Josh, has asked me to draw up a salt wagon for him. He is using a Andrew Wildish chassis. I believe Andrew used to run 3DP rolling stock. Josh has sent me a page out of Model Engineer 11 August 2000 which features a Saxa Salt 10 ton Wagon drawing. This is not an exact model of any wagon in particular, I've taken elements from a few different salt wagons to make up this model. We are invoking the 6ft rule on this. It will be printed in large sections. A lot of the detail will be able to be printed onto the section rather than having a bunch of separate bits. I'm about to order some PETG so I can have a go at building a few myself. I'll make the model available to download once it is completed. Connor

Hi Dan, yes I have seen that new one. I’m thinking of using that for my wagons. It’s a very well designed assembly. Only 2 or 3 parts make up the chassis structure.

That's going to look the business Connor. You're going to need more printers at this rate
Andrew's new frame design looks very good and should prove a good basis for other projects. I'd quite like to have a go at extending one of them with additional centre pieces. I've made three now and they've all gone together very nicely to create a strong and rigid base.
I'll look forward to seeing the salt wagon evolve!
