2 weeks ago, I got a PM on this site from a new member calling himself Scooter. He was enquiring about a Wilfin lathe he had, and did I know anything about them. As it happens, I do, because I owned and used one for about 20 years, so I responded within a few hours. How he knew to contact me on here I have no idea, because as far as I know I've never mentioned it on here, though I have provided information about them on the www.lathes.co.uk site.
Anyway, his message to me was his first, and as it turns out, only visit to the site, and he has never responded or visited again. Strange.
If any of you know of a poster, possibly on another site, using the name 'scooter', let me know. I'd like to help the chap, because the Wilfin is a bit of a rarity, but I can't if he disappears!
