Can anyone help me, I am trying to build a 31/2 gauge "Titch" but cannot decide if to purchase a Shaper or Miller. What do you suggest? It needs to be cheapish

Hi. purchase a milling machine you would use it more then a shaper. A small vertical or universall. I sold my shaper last year, as I only used it to cut internal key ways. I find the milling machine is quicker to set and use. This is only my personal findings.

As far as building a Tich goes I would agree with you Rog, but in general I think I wouldf lean toward the shaper. My shaper is in daily use (when I'm home) and the tooling is sooooooooooo much cheaper than shelling out for endmills
