Which drawings are you using, the original Plastow ones, or as redrawn by Stuart Models? I hope its the redrawn ones, because although Henry was a lovely man, and a good machinist, he was a terrible draughtsman.

To be perfectly honest I would be getting on the waiting list to have one made. It will save you a lot of messing around and heartache rather than trying to find a good used or never used one and hoping its up to standard.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the messages, I’m actually using the Plastow drawings and trying to work around what’s wrong as I work through the build. The engine was brought as a part build so some parts were already done. Strangely the con rod is too long, and not to drawing so I’m pretty sure that will need replacing. I have a boiler being finished next year hopefully but I wanted a second boiler to check some dimensions but it’s not a real problem to wait.
Regards Del

Good luck with using Henry's drawings. Its certainly possible, plenty were built using his drawings. I built a 3" Simplicity (Wallis & Steevens) roller to Henry's design and drawings, which was complicated because he'd only produced one set of drawings, but had put dimensions on them for both the 3" version, and the larger 4 1/2" version.
