The current site will be down from 8.00am on the 5th and will go live again on the 12th or possibly a bit earlier. Perhaps a daft question but what is this "ME New Forum" and "Software"?
What have I been missing all this time?

Catch it while you can. All the old posts will be carried over so probably better to start when it goes live again with teh new forum software www.model-engineer.co.uk/

I was half-way through a search, today, for the keyword “water” when it suddenly put up a message saying “come back about 12th October when we get the new website and fora working’ - or words to that effect.

Quick update as nobody from the paid staff seems to be doing it. I have asked for the [url=https://www.mortonsdigital.co.uk/blog/2023/10/02/model-engineer-model-boats-forum-migration-updates/progress[/url] (lack of) page to be updated today but nothing yet, keep an eye on it.
Sillyoldduffer and myself have been testing when we can over the last couple of days and found a lot of issues, some minor others not. Admins and developers are working on it but not got a time yet for going live or how many of the issues will be sorte dby then.
I'll keep you posted

No Forum and no official updates since the 12th. I’m surprised how much I miss it.

It's getting close, I think a couple of members snuck in but have got no further due to what is going on with the final livening up.
I'll post here if I get a time.

Looks like it’s working now but when I try to log in I get a “verifying the security of your device” page and I can get no further. Looks as though that’s the end of the ME forum for me.

Rather less than impressed with Model Engineer. I get a page telling me its verifying security of the connection, then another page of Lego bricks, with a 404 error message, and a link to yet another page which apparently just links to the page I'm already on.
Doesn't bode well for the new software at all, after all the promises and delays.

Baldric I was trying to be polite about it I assume it is a case of having to lump it if you want to use the ME forum. I don't go there often, in the future it might be even less often. Jo

Finally got into ME - totally unable to log in, navigation around site is a nightmare. Bye-bye ME, after being a member since the site started, and a paper subscriber long before that. Life is too short for software like that.

I have to say that my experience with the new software is less than good, in fact it's a nightmare. Endless delays whilst the "verifying the connection" takes place every time I go to a different page, obnoxious pop up adverts all the time and at the moment no model engineering posts, just a lot of complaints. I know we've got to give it a chance but after all the hype about the new forum, over quite a long period of time, I was expecting something a bit better. Phil
