Hi out there. I have a lot of play in my Colchester bantam cross slide. At the moment there are more than two full turns of the wheel before any movement. The lathe was find until I had someone fit a dro and they removed the cross slide. So can anyone please help me with the following information. Nut size to remove tool post fine feed section, and any information on what makes up the cross slide bull screw and handle assembly. A drawing would be nice, I am hoping that a spacer may of been left out or anything bar the feed nut. Thanks

This may seem a silly question but does your Bantam have a taper turning attachment fitted.

Another silly question: Is the saddle screw nut fixing bolt actually in the nut and is it tight?

Don't worry, if theres 2 full turns slack it can't possibly be the nut thats stripped, though Jo makes a good suggestion that it might not be tightly located.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'toolpost fine feed section' or what a cross slide bull screw is.
Tell the eejet that installed the dro that hes messed up and get him back to fix it. If you trust him near your lathe again that is.

It occurs and based on my investigations with my Myford S7 ... The cross slide needs a push which comes from the dial but a pull which comes from inside. There's likely to be an adjusting nut on the cross slide leadscrew behind the dial assembly that just needs tightening up? The S7 has an allen grub screw the locks a round nut running on a fairly fine thread that allows fine adjustment of the push/pull action between the dial drive and saddle. Edit: Found this detail and if you scroll down ...
