My good friend Midland purchased a bottle of layout fluid for me at the show. I had recently given back to him the one he had lent me for the past two years... However, we used to get a brush included in the lid, but not any more, so I grabbed a small flat brush, cut off a section, machined a 3mm spigot on the end, drilled a hole in the lid, added some adhesive and screwed and glued a M3 nut on the other side. Voila! The brush keeps moist, and there are no more gnarled and bushy brush heads full of dried out blue stuff! Thanks David!

I gave up on marking blue and went over to felt tip pens after never being able to find a suitable brush when I needed one, another problem was getting the lids off, the marking blue would somehow get in the threads of the cap and usually the cap would split when being unscrewed. I rather like the container, the lid looks to be quite robust. I can see that it cost £4.80, could you please let me know which supplier it came from, I shall get one and invest in a paintbrush and copy your idea.

I now use either a Sharpi or big Magic Marker pen/felt tip, usually in black. The stuff sticks well and as long as you stick the lid back on when done last for ages. It also dries in an instant.

I use Tippex on castings. That still has a brush in the lid.
