Hi Everyone, I used to restore popular classic cars as a hobby for years until it started to hurt to bend down and crawl underneath them, and everyone involved became obsessed with values. I then decided to tick boats off my bucket list and promised that a steam loco would replace the boat. Well it's all gone wrong because I now have the loco AND the boat! Mrs hasn't noticed yet I don't think. Anyway, I found a lot here about the Simplex so thought I'd come in and have a look around. My Simplex is someone else's cast off; I bought it from Station Road Steam as a project. The boiler has a certificate from 2018 but clearly hasn't been fitted since. The frame and motion are all there together but the bodywork is in bits. I could really do with a set of drawings in pdf and I've seen them on here but would it be rude to ask so early? Cheers, Pete.

Welcome to the forum Pete, you can’t go far wrong with a Simplex, regarding drawings if you don’t ask you don’t get. Have you joined your local club, it may be worth joining the nearest one and letting them have a look at the boiler and it’s paperwork before you put it all back together if you intend running it in public.

Hi Millman, thanks for the welcome. I probably will join a club at some stage but only after I'm more familiar with what I actually have. I didn't start with any intention of running in public but never say never; my grandkids will probably want to see it running somewhere if I ever get it together!
