My son has been a member here for a while and so I've been a 'lurker' through his membership. He's now off at uni, so I thought I had better join in my own right! We write regularly for Engineering in Miniature and have a nice workshop in SE Wales, with a Harrison M300 and a Syil CNC mill. We're also building a railway - it began as a lockdown project and has been on-going ever since. We have a very sloping site and hence deep cuttings and huge embankments have been the order of the day. We have a 7 1/4" Tom Rolt (the original example, we believe) and a 5" Super Simplex, plus a 3 1/2" Tich, so we're quite eclectic in our choice of gauges! We're also part-way through building a GWR Manor in 5" gauge. We're members at Hereford SME and formerly ran the line at Tintern Old Station in the Wye Valley (now re-laid as a commercial enterprise in 10 1/4" gauge).
Regards
Peter
