Have dreamt of winning the IMLEC for years with something that full size can pass on an UK mainline. LNER K1 looks nice and could have done nearly all steam work UK post 1948 if only ? Fast trains needs better tracking than a Bissel truck can give.Continental solution was a Krauss Helmholtz or Zara truck up front. That needs 25mm sideway moving freedom for front driver set.The Lner K1 as is with 20inch cylinders will not be possible straigth away. Baldwin locomotive works offered GCR a monster mineral engine and solved the loading gauge problem by having two smaller cylinders arranged vertically connected to one crosshead. For K1 two 14 inch bore 26 inch stroke cylinders to one crosshead will do the work of a single 20 times 26.

Do you have any link to that loc? I tried "lner K&" but it clearly isn't that. "Baldwin K1" gives an engine that was withdrawn starting 1939 so that would not worked "post 1948".
