Can anyone tell me if there is any set sizes for bore, ball and lift for inline verticle check valves using 1/4" pipe. I have 2 to make and I know there are limits etc for standard 90 degree check valves but does this apply to inline ones?

The minimum lift to get full flow through a valve is D/4

Garry Hi Garry, If you check out the Golden Gate Live Steamers they have a data sheet for making trouble free check valves. From memory the lift for a mechanical pump (axle pump) is 1/8th ball diametrer for a hand pump 1/6th diameter and for an injector 1/3rd diameter. The data sheet is particularly helpful. Cheers Jim
