I'm at the stage of lagging and cladding my Britannia boiler. A quick question but what's the best way of securing the lagging to the boiler before the cladding goes on.
Thanks
Stephen

Steve, Hmm... Years back and now it's always years back I used insulation sheet bought from one of the usual suppliers. Not cheap but available in a couple of thickness, 1/16" .. 1/8", white and I think was a soft-ish glass fibre or similar. It came in easy to use sheets which allowed easy cutting and fitting. Was easy to use multiple layers to suit the space available. I crossed this particular bridge fettling our club Sweet Pea. The original insulation was used cornflake packets, another option. I also cleaned up the boiler and used a coat of Hammerite all metal primer for added protection against evil spirits. So far so good, no complaints, maybe no one has noticed yet. Edit: just found this. and more choices here

Hello, I use the ceramic fiber sheet in 1/8th thickness. I cover the outer surface with aluminum foil tape, cut out the holes required then hold it all together with tabs of more aluminum foil tape as required. Then the usual sheet 0.5mm brass sheeting. Works well for me
