Guys,
A while back I bought three linear DROs and a little later a digital vernier. All use variants of the G13 button cell and all are well into the spare battery life.
The nearest Maplins seem to get is the SG13 which I believe uses silver chemistry and gets 1.55volts whereas I think I should be aiming for just 1.5volts.
My local back-street shop fixed me up with L1154 button cells. The packaging says they replace AG13, G13, 157, LR44, V13GA and RW82. I recall that Boots (UK) do the LR44 for around a quid, a load cheaper than the L1154.
Has anyone yet solved this one and bought sensibly priced replacement batteries for these cheap DRO/Digital Calipers?

I bought a load (something like 10 on a card) at one of the model engineering shows. It pays to check all of the equivalents so you know what to look for.
Cheers,

Gentlemen,
Thank you again. Having been just a bit caught out with the current batteries, no doubt bought and shipped with the DRO/Calipers as the cheapest that worked, I wondered how everyone else was managing having bought the same/similar cheap calipers. Chances are there will be a rush on these batteries very soon.
At present the LR44 from Boots(UK) is high on the list and I'm waiting for one of their three for two promotions before following through.

I bought a card of silver oxide cells some time ago but found a number of them were dud after about 18 months. I may have bought old stock but it did make me wonder about the shelf life of these cells. Doug J

:)If anyone lives in a town with a "Poundland" shop, they usually have cards of 40 yes, forty assorted button cells for £1 including 16 AG13. You can also get 12 tubes of cyanoacrylate for £1.
