Does any one know where i can find details (drawings) for a ride on 5 gauge ride on driver truck capable of operation on both raised and ground level track. I have seen a few great examples in the rounds but being new to steam model loco ownership have been unable to locate a set of drawings. The best ever design i saw was capable of both ground and raised level track use, had a coal compartment, water tank and brake system. many thanks for any assistance offered. Peter

Hi Peter, there was a series of articles in ME vol. 180 by Alan Bibby describing a "versatile driving truck" that could be used on ground level and raised tracks. A very simple design with braking system. If you can't access the articles I can scan them for you.

jj & baggo, Thanks for the assistance, thats 2 ideas for the melting pot. I've printed off the whiteice article and dug out old Model Engineer Mags. I would like to collect as many other designs as possible before starting. Hope others in here will be able too provide details of other designs.
All ideas most welcome. Pete
