Hi all I have been around in this fraternity for some time and this subject has been discussed a lot in clubs and in Australian model engineer . Personally I belief that all models ( miniature engines ) are beautiful and I like them so I think that every person should be free to build, buy, operate any model he/she likes steam, diesel, electric, large or small . The question is how all these match on a combined 5"&7.25 tracks ? Some people driving a small 5" in front of a large 7.25" Narrow gauge feel threatened . Is this justified or not ? Most people driving on club tracks are aware of this and are careful but I must admit that some drivers on large engines( very small minority ) do ignore these little guys and accidents happens. I have seen some . I like to hear other members opinions on this. Should we have separate clubs for standard and narrow gauges ? Should we run on different days in the same clubs ? Should we have separate 5" and 7.25" tracks in same clubs? or different clubs ? In our club (Western District Live Steamers -Sydney Australia ) we are installing spacing signals ,will these work ? Regards Shawki
