Tel, Thanks for the photo. I was hoping to fill the background level with top of the plate. I have recessed area 1/16" but if I can not do it I will use the gloss paint method.

1/16" sounds pretty deep to me John. As I said, I etch 'em (with ferric chloride) & they come out only around 0.015" deep - plenty for paint.
