Hi All, Here are some pics of my loco on its inaugural test run at the local track on the 6th November. It doesn't look very stable, and it wasn't, but rest assured that all of it was cable tied down to the frame! It's the makings of a 5" gauge EWS class 67, built by General Motors and quite similar to the earlier class 66 - I think they both have the same engine. When finished the 'skip' (nicknamed on account of the body shape) will have a B+S 3.5hp vertical crank lawnmower engine running a car dynamo to provide traction power. She ran until about 10PM (which explains the 50W lamp on the front) with no problems at all. Cheers, James (P.S. I'm the one trying to look purposeful in the 2nd pic)

And I had the chance to drive it late into the night too .... thanks James (the purposeful one) for the opportunity to play on your inaugural run.
Andy
PS: The event was the Brighton and Hove SMLE bonfire night evening - great fireworks, great food, great company ;D

Somebody told me that one of the above pictures was printed in the Club Chat section of a recent Model Engineer. Can anybody tell me which one it was please, so I can get a back issue?
Thanks, James
