I have a Viceroy Ve Mill which I believe to be a model TDS 34/V2 P 30044. This machine was bought second hand and has worked well, but now I am having trouble getting the x axis power feed to 'power up' in one direction. The power is delivered via some relays, which all look clean and undamaged. The power supply is UK, single phase 230v.
Can anyone please suggest where I may be able to find any further information, particularly a circuit diagram, as no manuals came with the machine.
The power feed motor itself appears to be working fine. Is there any reason why direct switching could not be used and discard the old relays, as the feed motor is only of a low rating?
I think the chances of getting any replacement relays would be slim, not sure how old the machine actually is, but I would guess 20+? years.
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
Dave.

By way of an update; today I removed the limit switch on the power cross feed, after a suggestion was made by someone on another group. All looked ok, but then the relays started to buzz when the wires were waggled. I disconnected the wires and cleaned the copper strands with degreaser. The wires were replaced and tightened firmly, hey presto, power cross feed ok. I assume the conductors had become contaminated by oil?, although this was not apparent when looking at the terminal block within the limit switch.
However, for future reference, I would still like to locate a user's manual if possible.
Dave.
