Hi all As promised/threatened here are a few pictures of my Tich boiler that I have just 'completed'. I have done a preliminary hydraulic test to 160 PSI which was successful, I'm glad to say. Next job is to have the club inpsector do the same next weekend and then I hope to get a certificate. Apologies for the photo quality, rush job with my phone before getting ready for last week in Glasgow. i115.photobucket.com/albums/n295/spurley/Image041.jpg[/img] Cheers Brian

Hi Brian Well done . I am a boiler inspector in far land of Australia , your boiler work seems to me clean and well done and if this is your first let me tell you that you have no problem building bigger boilers .I am sure the boiler inspector will pass this boiler but if your rules are similar to ours , the certificate is only issued after steam test . In Australia at completion of this stage all details are recorded in the boiler book and certified , a number is allocated and stamped on the boiler. Good luck

''CONGRATULATIONS'' Brian, on an excellent job of work, you are a better man than me Gunga Din... ;D... I would not have attempted it. Best of luck with your final exam. John.

Hi All A quick update on my boiler; I took it to the club yesterday did the hydraulic test and our inspectors passed it fit ;D That is the first hurdle cleared and the boiler is on record at last. Now I have just got........................................ loads more to do before I can get 'the big one' after a steam test! I think the next job on my list is the smokebox so I can finalise the expansion bracket positions on the firebox wrapper. Then its all the 'jewellery'; safety valve, boiler fittings, regulator valve, rod and superheater before I am at the stage when a preliminary steam test can be attempted. Chris Vine was only saying to me last month that although with a completed boiler one seems to be near the end of a project, there is probably at least 30-40% more work left to do Then, of course, there is the painting, although I don't expect to achieve a finish the same quality as Bongo, not this time anyway Cheers Brian

Congratulation , as I expected all good results. From now on you will gather speed and will not be as long as you think for the big day . We would like to see the photo &/or video of the engine soon. Good luck

''Congratulations'' on the boiler work and it passing inspection, now you can motor on with all the fiddly bits, fitting the pipework and all that good stuff. I am looking forward to seeing it running. Sent you a priv/e/mail, All the best for now, John.
