I was there on Saturday but had to work Sunday so missd the huge road loco, looks superb. The queues for the rides never seemed to drop below 10ish for both the raised and the ground level tracks, the drivers love the ground level more than the raised track nowadays so it seems to get more trains going round, its some circuit now with the new extension. A further extension is being developed. Nice photos on the 2 links above, I must get mine off the card and uploaded somewhere probably www.cdmes.co.uk/hadyphoto.htm

I was there on the Saturday & found the Darjeeling extension marvelous. I asked around if anyone knew what the gradient was but no one seemed to know. I was told that sometime previous the club Tinkerbelle with 8 passengers ran away on the decent due to it turning damp causing the wheels to pick up, the driver & passengers were digging their heels in to slow down but arrived safely in the station. This is the best club that I have visited, they have a large cafe serving very good chocolate cake . Next weekend the Lincoln club open day at North Scarle I shall be signing autographs.

I was there Saturday also. Looking at Johns photos he was there Sunday. Gradients are in the 1 in 40's, I remember seeing a gradient post at the top station (Moanin Moor!) for the ski slope downhill section. It is a fantastic site and its actually owned by the club, no enforced eviction notices for us! I cant possibly imagine how members take the news that they must up sleepers and find somewhere else. The cafe is also our meeting room, strangely we never have a brew at monthly meetings?

I was particularly taken by the pair of 7¼" gauge yard shunting engines (1134A Class). The drivers spent some of the day double heading with a train of about 20 wagons. They even tackled the new loop and made it! John The MR 0-4-0's will go round the whole line singly and towing the rake of waggons. 2 very nicely engineered locos, both were entered in the Midlands exhibition a few years ago.

Hi Simon, do you know if they are made to a published design or are they one-offs?

Nice pics John, thanks, nice track too! I am also taken by those shunting engines, I have a particular penchant for locos with a different sort of beauty and those are two ugly little beauties Now I need another project like I need a hole in the head, but..... Cheers, Andy

Hi Simon, do you know if they are made to a published design or are they one-offs? John They're one offs, well built as a pair. P Richards & D Penney, not sure who owns which, 1518 & 1520. Built as a co-op which started as 3 builders, R Denham died after doing preliminary work on them. The same 3 people built a 2nd place winning LMS 'Crab' a few years ago.
