Well, our open day went off without a proper drenching but nobody got sunburned either! In the past these days have consisted of most of the members (there are only around 15) turning up empty handed and maybe the odd visiting loco. I suggested that we all bring work in progress and try and make a bit of a show of it, secretly hoping the Heisler would make an appearance and I wasn't disappointed. There was a 5" Midland Compound finished chassis and a couple of pieces of workshop equipment including a George Thomas drill that I liked as well as those shown in the photos :- s159.photobucket.com/albums/t136/agatehouse/SLMES%20open%20day/Everybody else is heartily sick of the club loco so I got to prepare it and drive virtually all day and I've brought it home to clean ;D seemed only fair but I think the workshop is going to stink of Gunk forever We are a small club with a typical public park raised track and whilst I marvel at the venues and turn outs of some of the larger clubs everybody seemed to have fun and that's what matters. A few more passengers would have gone down well though. Back to the cleaning now, it's going to sparkle!
