As there is very little on the list at the moment, I thought I would show my No. 8 Engine a Tinkerbelle type. E.W.

Ewal,
Fantastic series of pictures on your web site, only adverse comment is the pics are a little small to see details but perfectly fine for general viewing.
Thank-you
Al

Hi Ewal You seem to be comfortable sitting inside your engine and having fun driving it . This is what it it is all about , and nothing else matter .Looks great and good luck . Your website is great too.

Hello James, Al & Shawki it is a comfortable seat & I agree the pictures are to small, it would be better if you could click on to enlarge them, but the web site is free so I can't complain. At the moment I am busy building No. 9 as I have promised it for Christmas, & I'm trying to finish steeeeem2 my next web site which continues from steeeeem. I will let you know when it is finished
Regards. ewal

G'day Ewal. I love your front room; how do you get away with it? Instead of lounge chairs you would have to take guests for a ride. Maybe you could build a refreshment car and lounge car! <G>
BTW. Is the valve gear on Tinkerbell Walscherts, the picture makes it look like Baker? What other valve gears have you used on your locos? One looks like Greenly and another Heywood.
Regards Ian

Hello Ian, 10 yrs ago when I started I said I fancied building a steam engine, my wife said use the front room we don't use it as such & it will be warm in winter. Later I took 10 ft off the living room & put a door in the outside wall thus giving me access from the outside. This hobby is the one that leads to more divorces than any other so I am told, so I guess I am lucky. No. 8 has walschaerts valve gear as all my engines do now . I started with hackworth & I tried another type I got from a book on I think No. 4 , I can't remember the name but it wasn't reliable. Regards ewal.
