This engine is suitable for stationary or marine work and has slip eccentric reversing. 64mm. Bore x 68mm. Stroke. It is painted with Triumph 'Emerald' auto lacquer which seems to change from a dark green to this more blue - green colour in bright light. I will be placing it in the Buy, Sell section with more details. Regards, Ian. (my first pics on the web.)

Very nice, sometimes photographing in natural light with the flash off allows a digital camera to see the colour better. Looks good in that colour anyway.

Hi Andy,
Sorry you can't see the pics, I can only suggest e-mailing them to you if you wish. I'm more than happy to do that.
Thanks Tel and Al for the nice comments.
Regards,
Ian.

Hi Tel,
The Bedplate and Columns were from Ernie Winter quite a few years back. I made patterns for the Cyl. Block, the Bearings and Crosshead Liners. I had the Block cast at Newcastle Foundry (formerly Hale's Foundry) the Bearings and Liners I cast myself.
Ernie's Cyl. casting had no provision for drain cocks and the bolting flanges for the covers and mountings for the columns were a bit to thin, (from memory only about 6mm. under the main Cyl. cover) Ernie may well have rectified this by now.
I made the Bearings slightly larger to suit Journals of 25 mm. instead of Bolton's 7/8" and to give a larger face for the thrust flanges to work on should it end up in a boat.
I have built two of these, the other went into a local boat of 16' about 2 years back. I'm now finishing 2 of the larger No.17 engines which only need painting, which will proceed the moment this very humid, rainy weather clears !
The way the rain was coming down here today Tel, it might be a good idea to keep the engine and build an Ark..... ;D
Regards,
Ian.
