List, In 1993 I purchased a data-base in the form of 3 floppy disks, from Henri Larose in California, which covered articles in Model Engineer from 1960 to 1993. A ME issue of around that period reviewed and recommended. Mr Larose appears to have disappeared without trace so his promise of updates never materialised. I have continued the ME data base using Windows Access and it is proving very useful. I wish now to upgrade my system from Windows 98 to XP but I have been cautioned that although my Windows data base may be transferred successfully, there are doubts if Mr Larose's Paradox data base will. I am asking if anyone using Windows XP has the Paradox data base installed, and if so did any problems arise when installing? Thanks Keith

Keith Have a look at www.groundlevel.demon.co.uk/me_index.html this contains a complete index of ME from 1898 to 2004. These are downloadable comma separated variable files which can be viewed using excel or access.

I read / heard somewhere that Henri's original database was never updated. I am not sure, but believe he was ill, or something like that.
Again, from memory, Paradox was a Borland product, and I think there is a way of converting it to be read by one of the MS programmes, probably Access.
In any case, I would download the free versions as mentioned. At least you will have the index you require.
