For future reference later this year I need details of clubs north of or even immediately south of Hadrians Wall. Information about rallies and/or steam days open to visitors would be a bonus. And, as has been discussed by other people in other threads, by details I mean 'contact details'.
The Carlisle club would be a useful start.

From what I have been able to find, clubs in that area are thin on the ground. The silence here tends to confirm that.
Carlisle is one, but they appear to be shy of publicity. Strange, as they are in a public park, if they still exist.

This is sort of my neck of the woods, I've asked our secretary for Carlisle's details and will pass them on via pm when they land. Otherwise in Cumbria there is Workington and us in Ulverston then you're into Lancashire with Lancaster and Morecambe whose track is near Milnthorpe - pretty track though. North of the border I can't help I'm afraid - don't speak the language ; There is some sort of 12" scale NG system at Alston at the Mining Heritage Museum - should Google up.

I'm surprised that there seems to be so little in the NE corner but thanks in anticipation concerning Carlisle. I knew about Ulverston (via your sig). I hope to be at Bassenthwaite during the first week of September. Does anyone steam at Ulverston mid-week? Did not know about Workington (what do they have there?) and the only club north of the border that I have found is Strathaven.

Saturday afternoons only for us I'm afraid, there's not enough of us! Workington are at www.wcgme.supanet.com/ another public park raised oval. What about Ryedale, North Yorkshire or Kirkintilloch which is just north of Glasgow.

If I have more successes than failures during the next few weeks then I might see you at Ulverston in May.

That would be good, the cakes on me - it's my birthday on our open day, pure coincidence!
