Hmm.A bit difficult this one Terry,IKnow the water level rises in the gauge glass when the regulator is opened, but you shouldn't get priming with water in the bottom nut.Are you leaving the draincocks open long enough to get rid of all the condensation in the cylinders?Have you got an internal leak in the main steam pipe, drawing the water in? can't think of anything else at the moment, but you could always try posting this on the "general chat " part rather than just here in the Winson/modelworks section.
Good luck Phil in cold and snowy Sth Derbyshire.

Has the boiler been washed out ?. Any residue flux left in the boiler from it's construction will cause priming.
Good luck Roger

Is your regulator control ok? In a full size steam boiler system if a regulator, crown valve or throttle is opened to fast you can prime in seconds.
Good luck Paul H

Hi Brimscombe, Is it possible that you might have a leak on the steam collector inlet elbow to the regulator. If the joint is leaking water can flood the collector up stream of the regulator and when you open it, water gushes through. Might be worth a look.

Hi, Brimscombe, Are you still having this problem? I have some thoughts based on 14XX experience which may be relevant but wont shell them out if youv'e sorted the problem, and if you have how did you do it?Mott.
