Hi Jason, Are you still on Kit 1 or have more been sent out since your last entry? I have just completed a very practical " turn over " stand for the 5 " Brit which I am building. It is relatively easy to make and draws on B & Q for most of the material. There is a small amount of welding but the rest is fairly straightforward drilling and lathe work. It allows the main frames to be turned over easily so you can get to any part of the loco as you need. When extra weight is added such as cylinders you can adjust the centre of gravity of the pivots so it will still rotate smoothly. The design came from the GL5 Magazine "Turnout" and at least 3 of us down here in Colchester SMEE have built them. Two of the frames are built to high engineering standards and then there is mine which just works! Mott

Hi Mott Thanks for you interest, I have been posting my progress on my own web site uk.geocities.com/duchessbuilder/ which I try to keep as up to date as possible. The turning frame sounds like just the thing I will need as Kit 4 is due any day now and consists of the Loco frames. Where can I get the plans for the frame you describe, are they still available? Regards, Jason
