Hi.
Firstly let me apologise if I am off topic I may well be.
I've just got hold of a couple of lathes a both old a
Zyto 12" and a Warwick 18" could any body tell me were to get manuals/ for them?
Also it's been some Err.. decades since I used a lathe so I could do with reading up on the subject.
Can you recommend any books or on-line sources to start me off?
Many Thanks Alan

Hi Alan Your first port of call should be www.lathes.co.uk. He sells manuals as well as maintaining an encyclopoedia of old lathes. David

Thanks David.
Lathes.co.uk don't have the manuals for these lathes. With my present level of knowledge I think I'll put them on ebay and get a "one piece" job. Even a Unimat would do what I need assuming I can cut nylon at it's minimum of 130 RPM.

HI Alan, Welcome to the fold, what do you need a manuel for ?, get yourself a copy of "The Amateurs Lathe by L.H. SPAREY",available from M.A.P.publications, probabably one of the best books written for beginners. I've had one for over 30 years and i still keep giving it a coat of looking at. Any problems shout up on here ,always someone will help,we're not a bad lot on here you know!, even if some of us are a little eccentric. Cheers ,enjoy your model engineering,it's a great hobby !!!! Brian, (steammadman)

Rather than remember your long password why not keep it on the desktop in a word file then copy and paste it when you log in (Ctrl C then Ctrl V)
