KIT 10

Well kit 10 arrived yesterday which consists of the centre cylinder(s) block with piston valve liners already fitted, so not a lot to do this month except wait for the next kit which comprises of the bits and bobs for all cylinders. On first inspection the cylinder block has been machined to a very good standard, just a file required to take the edge off the corners. There is a small mark on one of the bores but I intend to hone the bores anyway. The snifting valve holes are tapped 5/16" by 32 so I can use Dave Nobles snifting valves if the MW ones are vastly out of scale. On a personal note, I shall re-work the drain cock holes to 3/16" by 40 so I can use the LMS type drain cocks supplied by Dave Noble (hope I'm on commision Dave!!). All in all a very nice cylinder, roll on kit 11. Worth mentioning that I received a response from MW (Dean) a day after sending them an email, have MW turned the corner? Paul.

I see that there are now pictures of kits 11 and 12 in preparation on the 'latest news' section of the Modelworks website.
