Guys,
Am I the only one to find the new layout with the log-in dialogue at the bottom of the main page a pain in the bit one sits on?
The rest is great, particularly the new spell checker.
Currently, when I open this URL I have to go find the bottom of the page to log in and it ain't no joke doing so on my laptop's touch pad.

I haven't had enough time to look around fully yet as I'm in between trips and trying to sort out some user login problems! Cheers Andy

Strange ....
Mine is still at the top of the page
Only problem I had was to re-register and then try and find the million digit access code that I needed to do so.
In the various companies I've worked for over the last several years, no matter how complex or convoluted you make your passwords, they still insist that you change them with remarkable frequency.
So much so that most end up writing down their "secret" access codes, which kind of defeats the object.
Still, I suppose that's the price of "progress".

What annoys me is the time /date on the board (as an administrator of another board). It can't be set globally, each registrant has to set it individually and it is only correct when you are logged in.

The simple solution is to select the 'stay logged in' option

Guys,
At risk of rubbing in the salt I had no problem with the account re-validation apart from the "Oh No! Not again" effect.
I went through the nonsense and it told me it would send me and email. I immediately went to my web-mail and found the magic number waiting. I dragged the mouse over it to select it and typed "control-C" (copy). I switched to the new login-in validation page, clicked the mouse in the code window and typed "control-V" (paste). It's a simple technique that avoids typo's.
QED.
(Note: "control-C" is hold down the Ctrl key (bottom left of keyboard) and press the "C" character. Granny, no more pickled eggs and put your teeth back in, you've had enough).

Hi Guys, GWRFan here! Actually, I'm really member 'Geoff', who, since the changes last week, has not been able to log in to my account. Something really strange going on, as my Activation Code does not arrive at my AOL EMail address. I've been viewing this forum as a Guest, LOL! Strangely enough, I created two new accounts, using my AOL Email addresses (two different ones), and I see that my details are here, although my code hasn't arrived for either one! Also, I see that 'Geoff' has been logged on today, even though I can't activate the account!!! So, in desparation, I have created another account (sorry Andy )) ), this time using my GMail.com account, and HEY PRESTO!!, I'm in at last. So, anyone got any ideas as to why my AOL account does not receive my activation key, but gmail does? And there is nothing in the Spam file. BTW, Emails from Andy and Tel DO arrive. Thanks you guys!

Hi Geoff - no idea why your previous account is playing up, but have your old member status back (on us)

There is a problem with proboards and AOL. It is discussed on the proboards support forum. AOL consider Proboards to be SPAM and refuse to pass on any messages sent from proboards hence you dont get activation codes to AOL addresses but will to any other.

Hi George,
Yes, I noticed that, when I went into the AOL EMail help today. I tried to deactivate some of the blocks, but it still wouldn't work. I even asked for all Spam to be sent to the Spam file, and not be automatically deleted. I'll stick with my new ID, even if I did join getting on for a year ago, LOL!
Thanks.
Geoff

Andy, (Guys,)
It may be a red herring but...
After a bit of trauma logging in today in the middle of which it suggested my user name should be lower case I got in.
Later I noticed there was only one member and it wasn't me. I was able to post a reply as me but apparently with 'guest' status.
I then logged in correctly without any problems as me. I'm me currently and hope to be me for some time.
