Helo all, ;D still on with the plumbing on the simplex i am looking to put an injector in the system so the info i am looking for is: what size injector do i need ie 1/4, 3/8 pipe etc. and where would be the best place to connect to the boiler at the moment i have two forward points on the barrel and the origional at the rear i have not decided which to use for the feeds in and which to blank off. (any ideas) again i am looking for information on the best way to run the by-pass system from where to where someone did contact me on this and said when they had time (after the world cup) they would send me details but i deleated the message (pm) by mistake and i am unable to contact them so again any help will be great thanks all look forward to your replies as always a great help nobby

On mine, the axle pump is fitted with a tee piece directly on to the delivery spigot - one liner going into the boiler, the other to a valve mounted on the rear of the r/h water tank.
The injector should only need to be 3/16, or at most 1/4 pipe.

It is fairly straightforward to size an injector, small injector takes a while to get feedwater into the boiler, large injector does it quicker. One problem you need to bear in mind is that if you fill the boiler with all that cold water you will lose pressure, or at least have to fight to keep it up. Best way is to arrange the feedwater to keep pace with the water used. Set the axle pump to keep pace with the water level in the glass and use the injector to top up. I use an 18 floz or 22 floz injector.(Fluid ounces per minute) on my Simplex and seems to be about right. Have a read here www.pollymodelengineering.co.uk/global/technical-notes/index.asp it's some notes on injectors from information by JC. Regards, Chris.

Hi nobby,
Further to my last, does your Simplex have a bunker tank?
Chris.
