Hi All,

Seems there are a lot of new Simplex loco's out there being built. I wonder who is doing what.

After a lot of indecision I am now starting on a Super Simplex. I hope to start getting castings together in the New Year. Delivery dates seem to be getting longer, 30 - 35 weeks for the boiler and none of the suppliers seem keen to quote times for castings. In fact GLR told me they keep very little in stock.

I phoned Reeves and Blackgates recently, Reeves have all the standard casting usually ex stock and Blackgates said they usually have them but sometimes they run out while waiting on new stock. Blackgates are noticably cheaper for most parts.
I bought the boiler bush castings from Reeves, ordered on Monday, delivered on Tuesday, turned ready for fitting Wednesday. ;D
