I am looking for drawings and info on the model Aveling dx roller, i would like to build a 3in model. I believe there are drawings in 1.5in scale.

Hi,
I have looked on xlist plans, but they do not list it. I met a guy at Stamford steam rally some years back who had built the 1.5" version and it was V. impressive.
From memory, it was described by ET Westbury in Model Engineer, around late 1940's. Suggest you try getting hold of relevant back issues, but I cannot help you any further with more precise date.

Hi Peter,
the roller was described in 26 parts in ME volumes 78 and 79 commencing with issue 1913 and ending in issue 1963. I am not sure who sold the original drawings but I think you will be lucky to get hold of any nowadays. I think Bond's were the suppliers for the castings at the time.
I do have a full set of the relevant ME's and could scan the articles for you if all else fails but it would be a bit of a long job!
