The coolant pump in the mill packed up a few days ago, and a New pump on Ebay is approx £75......
I'm not normally a cheapskate, but on this occasion decided to see what could be done with a weeks "pocket money", so I decided to go on a cheap mission :
Homebase : Small submersible pond pump - £15
Poundstretcher : Round 10L plastic rubbish bin - £4 :20cm Dia Seive - £0.50 : 5 x Black Bin Liner - £0.50
£20 total Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Building this up is pretty obvious.
The pump is not that powerful and only lifts fluid about 1.2m, so beware. Flow is not bad, but it wont pressure wash your car!!!
The seive is wired across the top of the bin with the return pipe arranged to dump on to it....purpose to collect all / any stray swarf.
I put the bin liners all inside each other inside te bin so that once the sludge collects after a period of time, which it always does, each bag in turn can be peirced to let fluid "out" to the next bag, but keeping the sludge inside enabling it to be disposed of.
Hope this helps....
