Suggestions please. I am in need of a drill chuck arbor for the tailstock of an 8mm watchmakers lathe (Boley, etc) This needs an 8mm WW-style collet shank one end and a Jacobs #0 taper nose. I've checked RDG Tools and they don't offer this combination. Any suggestions for other sources?

Hi Harry, just a thought but could you use a screw fitting chuck rather than a morse taper fit? Sherline do 8mm to 3/8" x 24 adapters which fit the smaller threaded chucks. John Just noticed that Cowells Small Machine Tools do them as well. They also sell the arbors with the chucks fitted: www.cowells.com/acc_90cw.htm

John, I have a very nice precision chuck already in hand and it requires the #0 taper. I was hoping to find something a little less expensive than Cowells although I'll remember them as a last resort. I could of course make my own from a soft nose blank. Thanks, Harry

Arbors found! Here in the USA, for a reasonable price, from a clock/watch tool collector.
