Hello all, I think the bearings on my pillar drill are very worn as they can be very, very noisy at the top end speeds . What I am after is any information or experiences with replacing the bearings in a pillar drill. In particular what type of bearings are they likely to be, tapered or just plain? Any information is very welcome. Regards James.

Hi James,Try giving Model Engineers Workshop magazine a ring(01689899200-back issues)I remember they did a complete article on this very subject complete with pictures. The pillar drill in question was an eastern import but the procedures are identical. The publishers should be able to supply the relevent copy as I do not know it myself.I hope this helps you and wish you good luck in your quest.derekb
