I have some 10 & 8 DP Gear Cutters.
Some have 14 1/2 [deg] AoP on them, others do not.
Are the others 20 [deg] ?
ie. assume 20 [deg] unless marked otherwise ?
Regards Dave

Guys,
If I can piggy-back on Dave's thread...
I've got a set of 0.5 Mod cutters (the set from Chronos). I don't recall seeing a pressure angle on them (unless it's implied). My problem is the set doesn't extend from the highest number of teeth to an infinite rack and I haven't seen the missing one advertised. Once I know the angle I can make a simple fly cutter with simple side profile to complement the set.

To find the pressure angle, cut a few adjacent gear teeth with the cutter, preferably a high count one, and roll them into a length of plastiscene. You the carefully cut along the line of the indentations and measure the angle of the teeth of the plastiscene rack, that is the pressure angle. Peter

Peter,
Have you an idea of what the possible pressure angle could be? Trying to guess the angle in teeth cut at 0.5 mod is going to be tricky unless I get a clue, they'll be quite small.
