Ello,
Was playing with the simplex on the weekend and i noticed that the regualtor was leaking a bit. It has always leaked but now it needs attention.
I did not build the simplex and i dont have the plans. I would imagin that the gland just needs packing but before i remove a single bolt i i just wanted some advice on what to do.

Ian, someone on here has scanned the articles for Simplex, both original and super, on disc and has offered to forward them to anyone interested. I think it is John Baguley. Maybe those might help.

Hi Ian,
As Bo says, I've got all the Simplex articles scanned into a pdf file. If you pm me with your email address I'll be happy to forward them to you.
I presume it's the spindle gland on the backhead flange that's leaking? The drawings show it as just a simple screw in gland with soft packing so it probably just needs the packing replacing.

Indeed Freddo, oh dear - we have leaking glands in general topics and leaking glands here - is this glandular fever?
