Hi All Just spent some time in Vienna and visited the Austrian Railway Museum at Strasshof. www.eisenbahnmuseum-heizhaus.comFantastic place made all the more intresting by the presence of a ground level 7.25" and 5" gauge track. Seems to be quite a active group and the track is nearly 2Km in length spread over various diffrent loops. Current project is a roundhouse/workshop being constructed in the pit of one of the original sheds turntables. Activity on the day I visited was focused around clearing up after the storm that had taken the footy of air earlier in the week. I will post some piccies when I get home. Andy

Andy,
Sounds like the place I visited a year or so back except there was no one around.
The thing that tickled me on the old locos was the rail sweepers just in front of the cylinders stuffed with twigs.
From there we went on into Hungary and did a couple of footplate rides on the old steamers. The memorable thing with these was the chuff-bonk of the compressor as they slowed into the station.
