Like most people, I am always on the look-out for bargains.
Yesterday I found some, at a local car-boot sale.
Sets of dies for the Coventry diehead, being sold at 50 pence per set. Unfortunately not many threads to choose from, but I did get a decent selection.
The same guy also had lots of BIG drills, and I mean big! 1.5" up to 3 " plus, all Morse taper shanks and all looked in good condition.
He was asking £1 for the smaller ones and £2 for the biggest. s Didnt buy any as, 1, they are too big for me to ue, and 2, I didnt have any spare cash with me.
(Memo to self, take plenty of money next time.)
It just shows that there are bargains around.

Yes, all too easy to stock up on the "Might come in handy some time" items.
However, there are sometimes bargains and given sufficient discipline, one can buy them and walk away from everything else.
Or that is what I have heard!

Maplins are offering digital calipers for £19.99 these appear to be the same as Chronos sell for £39.95. Not as good a price as Lidls but still there would apeear to be a better chance of actually getting a set.

the best place I have found for tools of any sort is a local shop and stall that sells some new basic tools and alot of second hand engineering tools. I got digital calipers for £25 (blackspar?), any taps 'n dies justabout and a huge range of dividing head rotary tables chucks vices or any machine tool accessory, pity I don't have the money, otherwise I would buy half the shop. the place is dmd tools in huddersfield if you're in the area or there may be somehting similar near you. there was someone asking for gear cutters on the email list, this is where I would get them
