Hi all , I haven't done much in the workshop for a few weeks but desktop modelling is almost as much fun , and more comfortable. This evening I knocked out a driver for my black5 and the counterweight , got them painted too ! and the other 5 will only take a few key presses LOL!

That's my sort of engineering! What package are you using? I've been using Autocad casually for 20 years but I'm not quite up to this standard! JB

Looks like solidworks to me.

Wrong havoc they were modelled in ViaCad 2D/3D and rendered in Cheetah 3D , both available for free trial download and about 50 quid each for a license. It is very good for small model engineering jobs but rendering animations can take a long time

If they had a linux version I would have bought it tonight...
To be honest they all look like solidworks to me as that the only one I have experience with. ;D

Have you tried Wings3D for Linux Havoc? Low poly modelling and really easy to use (but no use for producing dimensioned drawings/2D).

I think you mentioned it before. But I want to be able to produce drawings. It might be years before they come out, but when that b***dy project is finished I want to be able to put up drawings.
