I understand that included in the Maid of Kent drawings are details of a Donkey pump.
1 Has anyone experience of this pump.
and...
2 If anyone has the relevant drawing would they mind copying to me just the part that covers the pump, please.

Hi David, I have indeed got the Donkey pump fitted to my 'Maid of Kent' as in the drawings it has a displacement lubricator fitted as well. I can adjust the speed of the pump from a valve on the back head. I normally adjust the pump to just tick over and keep the boiler level I have many people ask me about it when they see the loco running at the club your welcome to come to and visit my club to see it running

LBSC does include a description of a 'simple weir type donkey pump' in the Maid of Kent articles but I don't know if that is the same as shown on the drawings. Perhaps Spamcanman could take a photo of his and put it up so we can compare the two? If it is the same one I can send you a scan of the relevant article. The drawings are not dimensioned but enough information is given in the write up to build one I think.

See he's beaten me to it ;D Doesn't look like the same one though.

I have just gone through the complete drawings for the 'Maid of Kent' and the Donkey Pump is not shown in them.
I have looked in 'The Live Steam Book' by L.B.S.C and there is a very good article on a Duplex Double-Acting Feed Pump that should help although again it's not the same as mine.

The Donkey pump should be on sheets 6a and/or 14 of the Maid of Kent set according to the drawing list in the back of Shop, Shed and Road.

Thanks everyone. It looks as if my winter project is decided!
Tel, would you mind sending me a copy of your plans, please, if possible.
baggo, could you send a copy of yours as well please.
spamcanman, it was me asking all the questions a couple of weeks ago at Colney Heath! (I have the new black Simplex.)
I had forgotten that I have LBSC's book, lurking on a little used bookshelf. I've just got it out and guess what page it opened at. Must be deja vu or something.

The Donkey pump should be on sheets 6a and/or 14 of the Maid of Kent set according to the drawing list in the back of Shop, Shed and Road. Andy Hi Andy, I have just checked the drawings and they both cover the axle pump 6A is for a Joy Gear assembly and 14 is the Stevenson Gear. Anybody expecting to find drawings from these plans for a Donkey Pump will be disappointed . Cheers.

I've just recalled that Austin-Walton designed a twin cylinder, double acting steam pump which is listed in the old Plans Handbook as LO 17. My M.E. indexing system is pretty good, but I cannot find any reference to a published article. Its not obviously a part of the Twin Sisters series, so does anyone know if there is a write-up anywhere? Thanks in anticipation.
