Ideas invited for locking the centre spigot on a rotary table. I can never clamp down with the centre spigot on the rotary table because it will rotate and also pull upwards as it is not affixed to the table. Therefore I end up bolting to a sacrificial length of BDMS, seems to be a regular waste of material. Have I missed the obvious? Example shown below.

Can you not put a radial slot on the centre piece and clamp via the spare tee slots.

Redmog
My RT has an MT3 taper for which I made plugs which are tapped at the rear. A suitable (home made) shouldered "washer" and socket-headed cap screw secure these from the rear of the table and still allow it to be laid flat on the mill.
Each plug serves a purpose such as "centring", "clamping", etc, by dint of a centre or tapped hole in the "front" end.

Paul - Thanks for the reply.
Andy - Thanks also. I'm still thinking it over, I'd thought of your idea but it means machining the base of my Rotary Table. Not an easy task on a Myford Seven ! or anything larger for that matter. More ideas still welcome. Chris
