In a mad rush of enthusiasm, I sent an order for the driving wheels and other stuff for the Project and also Evening Star.Does anyone know where to obtain the cylinder castings and boiler material. Or has anyone built it and is willing to pass along any hints? The Evening Star in particular

Walsall Model Industries do the cylinder casting for the Project (in gunmetal). Don't know about the other one though.

Thanks for the above two posts, I was/am aware of Walsall and have got the wheels from them. I would like to hear from anyone who has done the job though.

You really don't need a cylinder casting for the 'Project', just use a piece of free-cutting brass or gunmetal - square or round, and machine to shape. It's what I and many others have done successfully.
The 'Project' loco was designed to be an easy build for the beginner, so there's no complicated shapes to machine.

Arrgh. I knew I should have posted my enquiry earlier, but I have ordered the casting. You live and learn. I just wanted to see if it apealled to me Gauge 1 that is. Having made a start oon the Green Arrow I think it does. The prices of castings etc., is/has become prohibitive if you are on a limited income and hence limited budget!

Where can I obtain the drawings from? I am sure I have seen them, but forgot to add to favourites?
